It worked!!

Sorry I missed you yesterday, but I went to Houston for the weekend so I used Monday as my Sunday.

Clear as mud, I'm sure.

(Have you seen the movie Mud yet?  Sooooo good, y'all.)

Well, first I want to say THANK YOU for all your positive thoughts and vibes because they WORKED!

They sure did!!!!

Y'all are some powerful vibe-senders.

I told you that I used to be an actress and voice-over artist, right?

And a DJ?

Holy hell, I gotta dig up some old stuff to show you.  Soooo hilarious, those early days of all that.

Anyway, I have been thinking a lot about getting back into voice work because I love it soooo much and I really miss it.

I got my mojo going and shook up the Universe and, lo and behold, some work plopped right down in my lap!!

It was really, really crazy how it all worked out and I will tell you that story another day because I need to go walk the dog before it gets too hot.

(I've been making myself sit on the patio and drink my tea and set my daily intentions before doing anything these days.  I do really love it, but sometimes it's so nice out there that I just stay and stay and stay and before I know it it's almost niner o'clock.)

So, yea, I got an audition last Thursday, which is what I was being all cryptic about, then I got the call yesterday that I did get the job!!!!

I went in and had a great old time doing a radio ad for Piggly Wiggly!!

Who, I ask you, does not love Piggly Wiggly?

It really, really, really is true that doing what you love never feels like work.

Well, I dunno about never, but I LOVE doing voice-overs and it has never felt like work to me.

In fact, I feel like I'm getting away with something.

Getting paid to do something that I find easy to do and that I love.

A lucky-ass, is what I am.

LA for short.

So MUCHOS muchos gracias for your good thoughts, chickadees!

Here's some weekend love from the house and yard for you because I know you don't wanna see a picture of me hopped up on coffee driving to Houston and back.

See ya tomorrow!

  7. Hey, congratulations! I think this may mean you need to expand into the world of podcasts. Or YouTube videos. I'd love to hear what your voice sounds like. But not as much as I'd love to come sit on your patio and admire all your lovelies and drink tea with you.

  8. I am going to meditate on what you have written here. There are some things I want to get done (or to try, at least) in my life, but I feel my path get's usurped by a whole host of other things.

So So SO happy for you - that is the best news! Good on ya'!

    1. Your path is usurped by having a little one right now, mama. Your time will come again, for sure. My boy is 9 and I am juuuuust stretching out the old wings. I'm gonna tell more about it later so you can ruminate some more though.

Thank you, I am REEALLY SO SO SO happy!!! and proud of myself.

  9. How cool is that? Congrats on the voiceover gig. That's really cool! I grew up (in S.C.) with Piggly-Wiggly grocery stores. Where will your ad air?

  10. Yay! And double yay - Piggly Wiggly! I thought they'd gone out of business. When we used to live in East Texas I shopped at the local P/W until it closed. It made me so sad - like a part of my childhood had gone missing. And now I not only hear they are not all gone forever - but that you are working voice-over for their ad. What a remarkably happy connection says I. Pigglay Wigglay. Woot!
