The Big Picture.

I am on bended knee in awe of the amazing goodness of my new windows.

All windows are now finished!!

Hallelujah and praise Allah!

Good-bye to 59-year-old windows and Hellloooo 2010s.

BEFORE:

AFTER!!!

Oh, so, so, so after!!

I still have to paint the trim, but I just could not wait to show you!

The difference is amazing

I mean, really, truly, getdownwithyourbadself amazing

I had no idea that having windows with no partition thingees (what are those called?) in them could make such a dramatic difference.

This is the one in the back of the house looking in from the patio.

I am just beside myself!

I was worried that I was going to miss having the triple window thing where the two sides actually opened, but, oh, my...the big picture is sooo beautiful.

Lastly, I gotta pimp my contractor again - David Duarte of Duarte Construction. (512.275.6500)

He is the best, best, best.

You can find him at http://duarteconstruct.com

(I get nothing in exchange for that pimping...just letting you know there's a good guy out there.)

If you need me, I'll be here, at home, looking out my windows.

Give me a wave as you pass by!

  1. I did wave today as Cheryl and I drove by but you didn't wave back. It looked like you did something with your hand but it wasn't a wave. I asked Cheryl about it and she said you do that to every body that goes by. I was feeling special but she shot me down. Bad Cheryl.

  2. Are you going to the next Go Go? Oh, puuulease say you are. And bring Cheryl with you. I can only imagine what it is like with both of you in one place at the same time.

  4. They are called grills. Love the new windows too. I too have the old windows, so were the new ones custom made for the size??

  7. Yes kc, they were custom sized. We installed other windows last summer but waited on these two until 1/8" increments were available so we wouldn't have to fill in gaps around the edges. It's the Andersen 100 series.

  11. Yippee, these look great. We love the chickens. The girls ooooh'd and ahhhhh'd over them quite a bit. We'll get some once we buy our own house again. Chris sighed over your yard and how our Austin one was coming along so nicely too before we left it. Poor baby, I do think he misses having his own garden. Though, our rental backyard has both strawberries and blueberries. Yum. Anyway, we are ready for y'all to visit PDX anytime. You can stay upstairs in the girls' room, it is a pretty cool space (converted attic) Anyway, miss y'all. Give our love to everyone.
